Make A Valentine Scrapbook Page with Ease using the Nested Squares Die Set
The Square Die Advantage
This Valentine Themed layout is showcasing our Nested Squares Die Set A.
- They are quick and easy.
- Pattern #175 found in our pattern gallery is all squares and just perfect!
- Allows for photos, cardstock or patterned paper to be customized to your layout.
- Nesting dies allow for matting options with ease.
- Perfect for Instagram photos! Get them off of your phone!!
If you are an Instagram user you will really appreciate this format for showing off your photos and getting them off of your phone and into a scrapbook! In this layout I can use a 1”, 2 1/8”, 3 ¼” and even a 4 3/8” size of square which allows for a variety of looks and borders for your 2”, 3” or 4” Instagram photos.
I don’t use Instagram, but I do like the look of photos squared off. The square die set allows you to turn any photo into an Instagram style photo.
In this layout and using the square dies you can mix photos and cardstock or patterned paper for each of the sizes.
Any of our Cornerstone Tiles will work well on this pattern and we have new cornerstone dies arriving soon that will fill any of the 2 1/8” squares.
Using a 1×3 heart block to replace 3-1” squares is my only deviation from the pattern.
I also altered a peace symbol cornerstone to give me an open circle or “O” in a square that is used as a frame.
I have added some of our heart tiles as frames; the white heart tiles were stamped in red with heart pattern to balance the stark whiteness of the frame.
A banner of pink and black heart centers from the 1” heart tiles are a nice addition to the title/journaling block. They are attached to each other with glues dots, and the twine swags behind them with twine bows to anchor the banner.
A pink colored pencil was used to give a chalk board shading to each black heart and with which to write their names.
The papers used are from Doodlebug Designs, several are double sided patterns and are very versatile. Cardstock from the American Crafts Valentines set to match the patterned paper as mats.
For the 2 1/8” squares I cut the mats with the die, but instead of using the smaller die that comes with the set to provide a smaller size, an X-Acto knife trimmed a little off two sides.
