Mosaic Moments Simple Steps to Memorable Christmas Layouts
Making memorable Christmas layouts is easy using layers of colors and festive patterned papers with the Mosaic Moments Basic and Layering die sets for making your Scrapbook pages merry and bright.

We’ll use Spruce Grid Paper the darkest green, from the Mosaic Moments Trailblazer Collection, Simple Stories: DIY Christmas: Joy patterned paper, several complimentary cardstock papers and Sparkling Clear Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh for embellishing a few details in the paper adding a little bit of sparkle to the page.
I sorted through patterns to find a way to include a significant portion of the patterned paper that I absolutely love and narrowed it down to three patterns with a central row of 2×2’s across the middle of the pattern. You can find patterns #248, #414 and #347 in the Pattern Gallery.

I intended to use only two pages to tell this story, but it became necessary to add a third page, also with the same middle row of 2×2’s. This lets me include many larger photos of the event; include the recipe and a title.

It’s Christmas time and everyone is baking, aren’t they? The kids love to come and bake with Auntie Hannah and last year was no exception, but Izzy had a request to have a day by herself with auntie to make Mary Berry’s Gingerbread House that she saw on the BBC show, The Great British Baking Show.
At age 5, Izzy was already a seasoned baker and quite the fan of the program and was eager to put her baking skills to the test. As she’s been Auntie Hannah’s assistant on many occasions we figured she’d tackle this project fairly well. To our surprise, she exceeded our expectations and did a wonderful job on the gingerbread house from mixing, rolling, cutting, and decorating. Once completed it was our Christmas Eve Dinner centerpiece.

It was important to me to document each of her steps so she’ll remember in the years to come what she accomplished. Putting together a memorable Christmas layout that features this accomplishment will help her to remember and look forward to baking more.

I’ve used a combination of single, double and triple mats for the photos and for two photos I used them as strips across both pages. By using the layering dies the job was quicker and more precise.

I’ve included Sparkling Clear Jewels for a pop of sparkle on each of the 2×2’s and placed them on some of the berries in the patterned paper. I attached each of them with just a touch of clear glue.

The third page includes the title and the recipe. I’ve made a fold-over for the recipe. Ingredients are listed on top and inside the directions. I don’t expect anyone to actually use this page to bake from, as we do have the recipe stored to use elsewhere, but just to add to the story.
