Simple Steps 101.09 Layouts with the Versatile Layering Dies
The Sleepwalker Parade
With today’s Simple Steps 101.09 I’m going to make use of several of the basic die sets and the brand new layering dies. There are so many options for matting combinations for your scrapbook layouts you will enjoy exploring them all and seeing their versatility in action.
The Sapphire Blue 12×12 Mosaic Moments Grid paper is a deep blue that leans towards the purple blues of the color spectrum making it just the right shade to represent Morton Salt. I’ve added a bold Yellow and Lavender cardstock mats to complete their color combo.
Patterns #132 & #137 give me options for several sized photos and several die sets. The Die Sets A, B, and C along with the corresponding layering dies AL, BL, and CL make putting this together nice and quick with many layer options for a varied look.
What I really enjoy about using the new layering dies is how my 4×6 spots can now have a series of mats and trim my 4”x 6” photo to fit with a nice even border all around. I no longer need to have an uneven border.
I have used the second 4×6 spot to mount a 4”x 5” photo and a panel of color to add a little bit of journaling.
For the title, I used Tim Holtz Alphanumeric letters cut in yellow and black and positioned them to show a narrow shadow so that they stand out. This is a tall narrow font that allows me to get the long title in the 1×8 space neatly.
The big company in our neighboring town of Rittman is the Morton Salt Company where my oldest son works. He’d done a lot of prep work for the event and he and his two children were able to be a part of the parade, Liam had a cushy ride in the pick-up bed, while Izzy got to dress up as one of the Morton Salt girls that were passing out the traditional parade treat, candy! Granny just had to run over and take photos to capture all the action!
I thought a single page showing them in the parade was fine, but a second page showing off parts of the night’s festivities would make for a better memory.
So what are some of your favorite events of summer that you want to scrap? You can see how the basic and layering die sets from Mosaic Moments can help you with many options for quickly assembling those memories for a great album in no time flat! Now go scrap!
