How to Create a Layout for Your Fall Festivals

Fall Family Traditions

This week the Leaves Die is featured for our Tell Your Story layout. It will continue last week’s Fall Festival post that featured the acorn border tiles with another fall themed die a 2×3 block die. This week will feature a beautiful Cinnamon Grid paper, several fall cardstock colors for mats and once again papers from the Photoplay Autumn Harvest Collection. This allows me to connect the two layouts with some of the same patterned papers.

I’ve chosen to use two patterns from the Pattern Gallery #256 and #322. I decided to flip pattern #322 so that I could have all the 1” tiles on the outside like a border and have the 3×5 tiles act like a mirror image.

For each of the 2×3 spots on both patterns I’ve used our featured leaves die. I’ve cut it out in the word paper and then cut several in each of the red, green and gold to use the leaves inset in the leaf spots of the image. The word paper leaves that are punched out make a nice embellishment.

A large 4×6 card from the paper collection adds color and interest to the page. It is mounted on dark red cardstock. And the punched pattern paper leaves are placed along the edge of the journal card from the set.

For the journaling on the page I used an image from my photos and took the opacity down several percent and printed the words on top. It is a smaller font size but I wanted to get it all in. A couple of stickers from the set give me a title and an embellishment. I like the way I am able to incorporate another photo into the layout by printing the journaling with it. The block blends into the page instead of standing out. The larger double matted borders do draw your attention to the block and sets it apart at the same time.

I hope you are making the most of all the lovely Fall Grid Papers available to you to show off your seasonal photos, and I hope you’ve picked up a few of the leaf themed dies to add a variety of design options to fill out your pages.
